Pelvic pain is normally in the pelvic region or lower abdomen. Most reported cases are from women, but there have been a few men affected as well. It can spread to the lower back and thighs. The conditions that cause pelvic pain are plenty, and have it as one of their symptoms.
It comes in two categories; chronic and acute. The acute pain is more common. It is severe and lasts for a short while. If you had surgery, you might feel it more. Chronic pain will go on for longer. Chronic pain manifests itself as mild, moderate or severe, with a steady increase in intensity. It may be sudden and sharp that keeps fluctuating, or constant but dull. You will see more of them during menstruation, when passing urine or while having sex. It usually means you have a urinary system, reproductive system, nervous or lower intestinal tract complication. For women, the pain is mostly due to their menstrual cycle or reproductive system. Such a pain growing acute indicates there is a major complication in play. Miscarriages manifest themselves this way. Ectopic pregnancies tend to do the same. It is accompanied by cramping and abdominal pain. Pelvic inflammatory disease is also a cause. Ovarian cysts are the other cause, and they also come with pain in the lower back and thighs. Endometriosis is another cause, where you will notice the pain just in the pelvic area. Ovarian cancer and menstrual cramps are the other causes, but with the cramps proceeding up to the lower back area. Uterine fibroids lead to it as well, but there is also the fling of pressure on the pelvic area.
Pelvic pain can also be caused by constipation, kidney stones, urinary tract infection, appendicitis, colon cancer or ulcerative colitis.

There are some cases that are simple enough to be handles by an anti-inflammatory drug, an oral contraceptive pill, or an anti-depressant. There are others that are not so simple and require you to undergo surgery, such as hysterectomy or a laparoscopy. In some cases, wheat you shall be recommended for is a muscle relaxant, exercises, heat therapy, or a nerve block. Only accept the right treatment or the root cause of your pain.
